Pasno Nyachowe
Pasno holds a B.Law, LLB &Masters in Public Administration degrees from University of Fort Hare, LLM – Research on “Domain Name Dispute Resolution in South Africa” from NMMU, LLM Cyberlaw & Information Technology Law from Leeds University (UK) and a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law Specialisation Programme from UNISA. Pasno worked as a Law Lecturer for 3 years at the Nelson Mandela School of Law – UFH. He completed his articles with Brink Cohen Le Roux Inc and later joined Bowman Gilfillan Inc and DMS Attorneys. He practised in the Labour, Corporate & Commercial, Employment & Employee Benefits Departments of Brink Cohen Le Roux Inc and Bowman Gilfillan Inc respectively. While at DMS Attorneys Pasno built a sizable practice specializing in Employment, Employee Benefits, general litigation, Commercial and IT law. He has an interest in issues surrounding the internet and electronic commerce related aspects of law (IP & IT law). He has written and published articles in this and other areas of law. With a masters degree in Public Administration,Pasno has recently extended his scope in practice to include public institutions, particularly Municipalities where he has advised on employment, governance and remuneration related issues. He has also assisted seniorexecutives in their personal capacity in dismissal related disputes and negotiation of employment contracts.
Arnold Sagonda
Arnold holds LLB and Masters in Law (Commercial Law) degrees from the University of Cape Town. He also holds Post Graduate Certificates in Banking and Financial Markets Law and International Tax Law from the University of the Witwatersrand and the University of Cape Town respectively. In addition, Arnold has recently completed a Certificate in Basics of Financial Management with the University of Cape Town. Arnold is a consultant to the firm and has over 9 years experience having worked for Bell Dewar, a leading South African law firm, Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, a leading international law firm and Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs, Africa’s largest law firm. Prior to commencing his articles with Bell Dewar, Arnold worked with the Institute for Democracy in Southern Africa (“IDASA”) in Cape Town as a Parliamentary Researcher. Arnold specializes in project finance, private-public partnerships, banking and finance, international tax structuring, and corporate &commercial law. Arnold has worked on projects in the power, telecommunications and infrastructure sectors. He has in-depth experience in cross-border project finance and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
Daphine T Nyachowe
Daphine holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Cum Laude) and a Master of Laws Degree (Commercial Law) from the Witwatersrand University. Daphine has joined the firm as a Candidate Attorney and currently serving her second year of articles. Upon joining the firm, Daphine has been exposed to high level litigation and other commercial transactions. She has also been involved in high level employment matters in the CCMA and Labour Court together with commercial arbitration disputes.
Ms Fadzi Chigodora
Office manager with extensive corporate experience in financial institutions. Ms Chigodora is responsible for the day to day activities of the firm, including the administrative part of the practice, taking appointments and management of the diaries of various team members.
Nyiko Sambo
Nyiko holds an LLB degree from the University of Limpopo. Nyiko joined the firm as a Candidate Attorney in the Litigation and Commercial Department in May 2017. Nyiko has already had considerable exposure to some high level commercial and litigation matters. Nyiko has completed his practical legal training and also has a right of appearance in the Magistrates Court and will soon be admitted as an attorney upon completion of the board exams.
